The game “Cossacks: Back to War” is dedicated to the wars of the 16th and 17th centuries, when scattered feudal militia turned into a serious regular army. It features nations that emerged on the military and political scene at this time, such as the Swiss Confederation, which played a key role in the process of transforming the militia into an army in which the main figure was the infantryman. The Swiss also created a perfect system of supplying and recruiting military units. The Hungarian army also made a big leap. Combining the combat tactics of the European and Turkish armies, Hungary fought actively and quite successfully. Light cavalry and infantry tactics in many European countries were largely borrowed from the Hungarian Army.
